Recruitment for an Independent GP to the CCGs Primary Care Commissioning Committee (PCCC)
East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is a leading NHS organisation with an award-winning governing body. Working closely with partner organisations, the CCG's 300 staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.
ENHCCG decided to fully take on the responsibility for commissioning general medical services from April 2018 and is in the process of appointing to the Primary Care Commissioning Committee. This committee functions as a corporate decision-making body for the management of the delegated functions and the exercise of the delegated powers. This enables the members to make collective decisions on the review, planning and procurement of primary care services in east and north Hertfordshire, under delegated authority from NHS England.
A key committee role is that of the Independent GP to provide good governance and scrutiny on key elements including managing any conflicts of interest with the CCG’s Constitution and its Standards of Business Conduct Policy. The role is to also bring particular expertise concerning primary care (GP) matters and to ensure strong links are maintained into practices and localities as the CCG develops a robust approach to delegation and new ways of working linked to Integrated Care System developments. Applicants need to be practising as a GP and have a good understanding of the GPFV and related national policies.
To fulfil the “independent” nature of this role, applicants cannot be a practicing GP from within the East and North Herts CCG membership area.
The remuneration is £75 per hour on payroll. This is for a session (4 hours) per week, amounting to a total of 208 hours per annum. This would usually be carried out on a Thursday with some flexibility.
